Minutes of the meeting of the Development and Planning Committee
held in The Stevenson Centre on Monday 28 January 2008

1) Apologies for Absence
Apologies were received from Cllr J.R.A.Sayers.
2) Declarations of Interest, Gifts or Hospitality
Cllr Beer declared that he is a Suffolk County Councillor, Babergh District
Councillor and Sudbury Town Councillor. Cllr Mrs Todd declared
that she is a Babergh District Councillors. Cllr Walton declared that he is a
Sudbury Town Councillor and a Babergh District Councillor. These members
also asked that it be noted that their views expressed at this meeting would be
based on information available at the time and might not be the same as those
expressed at meetings involving other councils.

4) Items Brought Forward
a. Parking on Shawlands Avenue
BDC visited the site on Wednesday 24th January 2008 and would submit a
report in the next 2/3 weeks.
b. Anglia Estate Improvement
The Council Manager to establish the latest situation with the project.
c. North Cornard Regeneration Group
The latest plans for the Poplar Road development remain the same, except for
the inclusion of an electric substation. Signatures from all the tenants are still
pending and it was hoped that building work could begin sometime in the
Spring.
5) Correspondence
a. Resident of Phillips Field Road: New Road Names in Great Cornard
AGREED that the family name of Kilby be added to the waiting list of proposed
road names.
