Minutes of the meeting of the Development and Planning Committee

held in The Stevenson Centre on Monday 24 September 2007

1)        Apologies for Absence

2)       Declarations of Interest, Gifts or Hospitality

          

            Cllr Beer declared that he is a Suffolk County Councillor, Babergh District

           Councillor and Sudbury Town Councillor. Cllrs Sayers and Walton declared

           that they are Babergh District Councillors and Sudbury Town Councillors.

           Cllr Mrs Todd declared that she is a Babergh District Councillors. These

           members also asked that it be noted that their views expressed at this

           meeting would be based on information available at the time and might not be

           the same as those expressed at meetings involving other councils.

4)         Items Brought Forward

 

a.      North Cornard Regeneration Group

The next meeting will be held on Wednesday 24th October at 7pm and the

Community Facility Working Party, will meet on Wednesday 10th October at 2pm. Both meetings will be held at the Stevenson Centre.

 

5)            Radiator Road, possible traffic calming measures

            AGREED the Council Manager to write to Guilford Europe, suggesting that 5mph

           speed limit signs be placed along Radiator Road. The letter to be copied to

           BDC.  

 

6)            Broom Street, footpath/flower bed adjacent to the Queens Arms

            AGREED the Council Manager to send a copy of the map to BDC, highlighting

           that the original plans show, that the footpath should be tarmacced right up

           to the wall of the Queens Arms and that the Parish Council believes that it is

           dangerous for it to be left in its current state.

 

7)         New Planning Applications

 

i)  B/07/01314/FHA/BHW – 87 Kempson Drive

     Erection of a side conservatory. 

      Recommended – APPROVAL     

 

ii)  B/07/01447/FHA/BHW – 11 Mallard Way   

      Erection of a rear conservatory.

               Recommended - APPROVAL

    

          iii) B/07/01551/FHA/BHW – 67 Kersey Avenue  

               Erection of a two-storey front extension

               Recommended – APPROVAL

 

         iv) B/07/01500/FHA/MB – 1 Upper Tye Cottages   

               Erection of a front porch (existing porch to be demolished)  

               Recommended – APPROVAL
