      Apologies were received from Councillor A.C.Bavington.

     None

 

3)  Chairman’s Announcements

 

      A letter received from the Great Cornard Lunch Club advised the Council that 

      due to the lack of volunteers the club is to be closed down.

 

      The Members were saddened by this news and AGREED to write to

       Mrs.Weavers, expressing the Council’s regret that the club was having to

       close, as well as thanking them for their service to the community for the past

       eight years. 

   

4) Items Brought Forward

 

      a)   Stevenson Centre

              The new doors are due to be installed on Friday 1st December and it was

             hoped that the builder would be in a position to start and complete the

             works on the new entrance way by Christmas.

       b)  Expenditure to date

             See APPENDIX A

              The Council reviewed the figures and asked that the Council Manager

             clarify the following points at the next meeting.

 

            i)             What items fall within the £3500 expenditure figure for the Recreation Grounds?

            ii)         Is there any Section 137 Grant money unallocated?

            iii)      Can the Twinning Society money be put onto the report?

 

 

AGREED the Council Manager to add to the February Council meeting Agenda, the matter of energy efficiency for the Parish Council’s streetlights. The Council Manager to also look into whether the current streetlights are using energy saving bulbs and the current time settings for the lights.
