a) Suffolk Wildlife Trust: Seminar on 12 September 2009
The Chairman proposed the Cllrs Millins and Thomas attend the seminar on behalf of the Council.
This was duly AGREED by the Committee
4) Items Brought Forward
a) Safety Padding on the cricket square posts
The Chairman reported on the meeting he and Cllr Thomas had had with the Cricket Club.
The club had received a quotation for the necessary foam pads of £136.85 but asserted that they had no money to pay for them.
The council had, therefore provided them with a grant application form, which had now been submitted for a grant of £136.85.
The Chairman pointed out that if the Committee recommended a grant be made, then that recommendation would go to the Council in September. By the time a cheque was issued and the pads ordered it was unlikely they would be installed before November. He thought it more sensible for the Council to buy and install the pads themselves.
The Committee therefore AGREED to leave the matter in the hands of the Council Manager to be dealt with as a Health and Safety matter.
Meeting closed at 7.40pm
Signed .
Cllr M. Newman, Chairman
