Policing Great Cornard. In September 2007 policing the Sudbury Police Sector changed. The area was split into three with teams dedicated to Sudbury Town, Sudbury Rural and Cornard.

CORNARD SNT

The Cornard Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) currently consists of two Sergeants (me being one of them), five Constables and two Police Community Support Officers (PCSO). We all work out of Sudbury Police Station, which is staffed twenty-four hours a day, every day, although the front desk is not open overnight. We have to take care of policing the Sudbury Police sector, but we have specific responsibilities for Cornard.

I have been asked to clarify how and when to contact us. If you have a genuine police emergency that needs prompt police attention – always dial 999. If you are witnessing a crime occurring, please dial 999 – we want to catch people at the time!  If you have sadly been a victim of crime please contact Suffolk Police via our switchboard number – 01473 613500. The incident will be logged, and any crime should be allocated to a Cornard officer. I should add that Suffolk remains a safe place to live, and in Cornard particularly there has been a 23% reduction in crime over the last few months. You can of course e-mail us on cornard.snt@suffolk.pnn.police.uk  but I would stress that this would be for non-urgent information only. Not all issues are police issues, and if they are not, we will do our best to help you in the right direction via one of our partnership agencies.

Please talk to us!! If you have a Community issue that you need to discuss with us, we want to hear it. Hannah and Peter our PCSO’s are holding regular surgeries at our schools (look out for the posters). Naturally everyone is welcome to visit us at Sudbury Police Station, and additionally, I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to our Community Consultation Meetings (Click the link for details).

This is more information on our website which can be accessed via www.onesuffolk.co.uk  (follow the link to Cornard) or from the Home page of www.cornard.info
