The Sudbury & District Parenting Network was set up so parents and children could meet each other for friendship and support. We meet at peoples’ houses for coffee and a chat whilst our children play, and we support each other when the going gets tough, after all, bringing up children is not always easy. We offer confidential support on a variety of issues such as sleepless nights, miscarriages and breast-feeding. On the social side, we also have picnics, trips to the park, the zoo, go swimming and have a great Christmas party. We also have some evening events for parents such as a curry evening and meeting for a drink. Twice a year we hold a Nearly New Sale, selling nursery equipment, toys and clothing. The next Nearly New Sale is on Saturday 9 October at The Stevenson Centre. We donate some of the money raised to causes that will benefit families. We bought a dolls house for the Toy Library and part-funded a baby-changing table for the Bradbury Courtyard Café. This year we bought bead frames for the local doctors surgeries and videos on parentcraft for the Health Visitors. If you interested and decide to join, it is £10 per year per family.
