DAY CARE CENTRE The Salvation Army’s Day Care Centre in Sudbury, is based inside The Salvation Army Church building in Station Road, Sudbury, first opened its doors in April 2001 following a widely expressed desire at the church to offer dedicated services to older men and women from local areas.
Open on Mondays and Fridays between 9.45am and 2.45pm, The Salvation Army’s Day Care Centre in Sudbury offers a warm and friendly environment for older people, some well into their 90’s. This includes a host of stimulating activities and relaxation time in the presence of qualified carers and dedicated volunteers. With an experienced chef on board at its base in specially adapted premises, the centre has gone from strength to strength since it first opened.
“This is what The Salvation Army is all about,” says Major Neville Andrews, who leads the Church in Sudbury with his wife, Major Yvonne. “It’s about providing care and support to those who need it, whatever age they may be or whatever situation there are in. It is so good to have the day care centre here and I am sure it will continue to grow from strength to strength.”
