Craft Courses

Creative Arts and Crafts for Beginners - 12 hr course - Free

This course aims to provide you with an opportunity to try out a range of art and craft techniques in an informal group setting.

Paper craft - Monday Morning - This may include a range of crafts such as; marbling, card-making, calligraphy and scrap-booking.

Textile - Monday Afternoon - Including a range of crafts such as; silk, ceramic and glass painting.

 

Creative Craft Skills - NOCN Level 1 - 30 hr course - Free 

This course will provide theory and practical skills in art and design.  You will be introduced to a range of techniques and work on a craft project. This course will provide progression and follow on from the beginners course.

 

 

Personal Development

Counselling Skills - NOCN Level 1 - 30 hr course - Free

Wed Morning & Thurs Evening - This course aims to introduce you to basic counselling skills and theory in supporting others.

Progression available to NOCN Level 2.  30hr Course.            .

 

Personal Confidence and Self Esteem - NOCN Level 1 - 30hr course - Free

Wednesday Evenings - Aims to enable you to increase your self-awareness, understand behaviours and develop skills to increase confidence in every day life situations.

Progression available to NOCN Level 2 - 30hr Course.            .

 

Living With Teenagers  20 hr Course - Free

Monday Evening - A parenting skills programme for parents / carers of children 12-18 yrs

 

Emergency First Aid for Parents and Carers - Sudbury:  6 October 2008 - 9.30am to 4.30pm

 

 

Skills for Life – Community Provision

English for Everyone - Free Course

Wednesday Morning - This course is suitable for people at any level who want to improve their English skills. You can focus on skills that are relevant to you in daily life, e.g. taking messages, finding out information, writing letters and completing forms and reports.

 

Key in Learn On - Free Course

Thursday Morning - Learn basic computer skills while improving your English skills!  Whilst creating the evidence to gain eDCC accreditation in word processing, you will be developing the reading & writing skills needed to take the Level 1 or 2 City & Guilds test.

 

Move on Maths - Free Course

Tuesday Morning - This course is suitable for those who feel confident about their maths  skills but have identified some areas in which they need to brush up  their skills before taking a test. Level 1 & 2 City and Guilds available (equivalent to GCSEs)

English for Speakers of Other Languages - Fees may apply

Monday - For help with English – reading, writing, speaking and listening.
