Sudbury & District Camera Club attracts members from a very wide area including Bury, Colchester, Long Melford, and Boxford, as well as Sudbury and Great Cornard. Club members have been meeting in various venues in Sudbury for about fifty years in order to discuss photography, share information and enjoy friendly competition. Over the years the emphasis has moved from home developed and printed monochrome images through slides, colour prints in various format, and recently, digital technology. The club members meet fortnightly to enjoy competitions, illustrated lectures by club members and visiting speakers, and workshops, all of which are aimed towards encouraging the photographic skills of each member whatever the particular area of photographic interest. When there are no meetings in the summer months (July/August) members meet to walk and take photographs in the surrounding area, usually finishing the evening with a drink in a local pub.
